Enable Outlook Classic Mode

To go back to “Outlook classic” from the “New Outlook” interface, open the New Outlook application, click the toggle button in the top-right corner, select the “Switch back” option, and provide feedback when prompted. The application will then close and restart, returning you to the classic version of Outlook for Windows. If you don’t see the toggle, your account type or organization’s settings may prevent it, or you might already be in Classic Outlook.

Here’s how to toggle back from New Outlook:

  1. Open the “New Outlook” app .
  2. Locate the “New Outlook” toggle: in the top-right corner of the application window.
  3. Click the toggle: to turn it off.
  4. Respond to the feedback prompt: and select the option to switch back.
  5. Outlook will close: and automatically reopen in the classic version.

If the toggle is missing:

  • Check for the “New” tag: on the Outlook icon in the Start Menu, as this identifies the New Outlook application.
  • Contact your IT administrator: to see if they have disabled the toggle or if your account is supported in the new version.
  • Ensure you’re on a supported Outlook account type: for the toggle to appear.
  • You can try launching the classic version directly by finding “Outlook (classic)” in the Windows Start Menu.
