Windows 11 safe mode boot
Method 1: From Settings (If you can boot into Windows)
- Open Settings (Windows key + I).
- Go to System and select Recovery.
- Click Restart now next to Advanced startup.
- After the PC restarts, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode, or 5 or F5 for Safe Mode with Networking
Method 2: From the Sign-in Screen (Shift + Restart)
- On the Windows sign-in screen, hold down the Shift key.
- While holding Shift, select Power > Restart.
- After the PC restarts, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode.
Method 3: From a Black Screen (Automatic Repair)
If Windows won’t boot normally, you can force it into recovery mode:
- Turn on your PC. As soon as the Windows logo appears, press and hold the power button until it shuts down.
- Repeat this process three times.
- On the third try, Windows will enter the Automatic Repair mode.
- Select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Select 4 or F4 to enter Safe Mode.
