Bypass Microsoft email requirement
OOBE\BYPASSNRO is a command used during Windows setup (Out-Of-Box Experience) on Dell and other PCs to bypass the mandatory internet connection and Microsoft account sign-in, allowing you to create a local account instead. To use it, press Shift+F10 at the network connection screen to open Command Prompt, type OOBE\BYPASSNRO, press Enter, and the computer will reboot to offer the “I don’t have internet” option.
How to use OOBE\BYPASSNRO
- Start setup: Begin the Windows installation as usual.
- Reach the network screen: Continue until you see the “Let’s connect you to a network” screen, requiring an internet connection.
- Open Command Prompt: Press Shift + F10 (or Shift + Fn + F10 on some Dell laptops) to open a Command Prompt window.
- Enter the command: Type
OOBE\BYPASSNROand press Enter. - Reboot: The computer will restart and return to the initial setup screens.
- Select “I don’t have internet”: When you reach the network screen again, you’ll now see an option to click “I don’t have internet” or “Continue with limited setup”.
- Create a local account: Follow the prompts to create a local username and password for your device.
